No. Kapinote captures system and microphone audio directly on your Mac. It works silently across Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or face-to-face conversations without altering participant lists.
Where is my meeting data stored?
Audio, transcripts, structured summaries, and search indices reside in a local SQLite database on your Mac. Network transmission occurs only if you configure an online model provider.
Do I need an API key to get started?
No. Kapinote operates fully with on-device Apple Speech and local Ollama, or reuses existing Claude Code/Gemini/Codex CLI logins. Custom API keys are optional.
How accurate is on-device transcription?
Apple Speech and Qwen3-ASR provide high accuracy for English and Chinese directly on Apple silicon. Custom vocabulary eliminates errors on specialized terms and names.
